Our work at Open Catskills is driven entirely by the efforts of volunteers in the community. Here are two ways you can get involved.

Make a financial donation

Your tax-deductible contribution helps us to achieve our mission of supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Delaware County.

In addition to our operating expenses (which are kept to the bare minimum) our general fund is deployed in situations where we need to respond rapidly to support individuals or families.

Support refugee students who travelled to SUNY Delhi from the Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya to study nursing. Your support will help pay for their tuition, room and board, textbooks, and living expenses.

Support Open Catskills’ fund to provide affordable legal assistance for asylum seekers. We are partnering with the Mohawk Valley Region project to expand legal capacity in our historically underserved rural area and to help our supportees make their case for asylum and permanent residence.
